Vanilla Scones:
- 2 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 TBSP baking powder
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup whole milk (or half and half)
- 1 TBSP pure vanilla extract
- 3/4 cold, unsalted butter (cubed)
Vanilla Glaze:
- 1 3/4 cup powder sugar
- 2 TBSP melted butter
- 3 TBSP water
- 2 tsp pure vanilla
Preheat the oven to 425. In a large mixing bowl, add flour, salt, baking powder, sugar, and cubed butter. Mix on low until crumbs form. Be mindful not to over mix.
In a small bowl, whisk together eggs, milk and vanilla, Add to the mixer and mix until dough comes together.
On a floured surface, knead dough until it comes together. Form into a circle and roll out, then cut into 8 triangles. Add to a scone pan or baking sheet.
Bake for 10-14 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
While scones are cooling, add all the glaze ingredients to bowl and whisk, glaze will be slightly thick, but should drizzle off of a spoon. Spread over cooled scones. Enjoy!
