These Vanilla Scones are buttery and bursting with flavor!
Ingredients
Scale
Vanilla Scones:
- 2 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 TBSP baking powder
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup whole milk (or half and half)
- 1 TBSP pure vanilla extract
- 3/4 cold, unsalted butter (cubed)
Vanilla Glaze:
- 1 3/4 cup powder sugar
- 2 TBSP melted butter
- 3 TBSP water
- 2 tsp pure vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425
- In a large mixing bowl, add flour, salt, baking powder, sugar, and cubed butter
- Mix on low until crumbs form (be mindful not to over mix)
- In a small bowl, whisk together eggs, milk and vanilla, add to the mixer and mix until dough comes together
- On a floured surface, knead dough until it comes together
- Form into a circle and roll out, then cut into 8 triangles
- Add to a scone pan or baking sheet
- Bake for 10-14 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden
- Remove from oven and allow to cool
- While scones are cooling, add all the glaze ingredients to bowl and whisk, glaze will be slightly thick, but should drizzle off of a spoon
- Spread over cooled scones
