There’s no denying the allure of the fall season. It seems that the arrival of crisp air and an excess of neutrals brings out a new side in each of us. Suddenly, I feel craftier, more spirited, ready to tackle kitchen crafts and home decor hacks that I normally do not have the energy or expertise for. One of my favorite fall recipes that I always seem to come back to is Caramel Apple Bark! Both simple and delicious, this recipe is a crowd favorite and one of the best ways to kick off the season!
Caramel Apple Bark
- 16 oz bag of chocolate chips
- 1 green apple, diced
- 1 TBSP of fresh lemon juice
- 35 individual wrapped caramels
- 16 oz bag of pretzels
Line a 9×12 pan with foil.
Add 1 3/4 cup of chocolate chips to the pan and bake in oven for 5 minutes at 325. Remove from oven and use a spatula to evenly spread the melted chocolate, covering the entire pan. Add a layer of pretzels.
Dice your apple and add to a bowl with 1 cup of water and 1 TBSP of fresh lemon juice. Mix thoroughly and pour onto a paper towel. Gently dab them dry of any excess moisture.
Unwrap caramels and microwave in 20 second intervals until melted and smooth. Spread over top of pretzels and add apple slices on top of that. Move to fridge and let sit for 30 minutes.
Microwave 1/4 cup chocolate chips in 15 second intervals until melted and smooth. Drizzle over the top of bark. Let sit in fridge for an hour before breaking bark into bite size pieces. Store in fridge until ready to serve. Best if enjoyed with in 24 hours.
