The wonderful folks over at Silhouette are once again giving away a Silhouette Portrait to a lucky Thrifty & Thriving reader!
Silhouette has a new money saving promo for the month of June, you can choose from either the Silhouette Portrait or the Silhouette Cameo and their wonderful heat transfer material. Â If you already own a Silhouette machine, they have a buy one get one FREE deal on their heat transfer material. Â Â You will find all the details on how to order any of these specials at the bottom of this post.
I love my Silhouette and I use it all the time! Â Â My youngest son is a HUGE Ross Lynch fan (Disney’s Austin & Ally), he listens to his CD and dances to the music all the time. My husband was able to score some FREE concert tickets to see Ross Lynch and R5. These tickets also included a meet and greet with the band. Â (Best Dad EVER!) Â My daughter was just slightly excited about the concert too, because “OMG…Ross Lynch is just too cute”.
My daughter wanted to make a shirt for the concert with some R5 lyrics on them, so I broke out the Silhouette and heat transfer material and had a shirt made in just 20 minutes! Â It was that easy! Â I typed in the words, the Silhouette cut them out and I ironed them onto a plain shirt she already had. Â Â We have made a couple of other shirts in the past for her school spirit days, it really comes in handy.
Here are her and her brother posing with some of the band members. Â My daughter thinks it’s important to point out that Ross Lynch is touching her shoulder (insert teen girl scream here)!!
One lucky Thrifty and Thriving readers is going to win a Silhouette Portrait valued at $199 (giveaway is for machine only)!
How to enter: Just leave a comment on this post letting me know what you would make with heat transfer material (shirt, bag, pillow case, apron, your options are endless)
Giveaway will close on Sunday, June 9th at 9 pm PST. Â Â Giveaway is only open to US residents. Â Â Good luck!

I just started sewing this year. While my dress, pants, and pajama making skills leave a lot to be desired ( Hello uneven hems, crooked seams, and despite my best efforts, one pant leg always ending up longer than the other. ) Through countless ummm “attempts” at different garments, yards of fabric. I finally found my niche sewing T-shirts. Which surprisingly came in quite handy. My 5 kids participate in numerous organized sports teams, clubs. I was able to save many of the teams and organizations money and other times help raise money by sewing T-shirts myself. But I found the selection and cost for iron on insignias and logos pretty limited. I had a ton of ideas on how I could “jazz-up” a number of different projects. I wanted a tool, that would allow for a multitude creative options. While still be cognizant of time and cost. While browsing through thrifityandthriving, I discovered the amazing capabilities of the, Silhouette AND! the heat transfer vinyl, the awesome color selection,(Glitter- Black being my fav!) The silhouette would be the perfect tool in my T-Shirt/ attempted garment making arsenal. PS I just read I could be make clothing labels on the Silhouette, SCORE!

As a grandparent (and retired teacher), I plan to “pay it forward” by using my imagination to create projects for my grandchildren’s schools, and extra-curricular teams’ in their various communities. Our son is a Teacher/Coach in elementary school and needs shirts, gifts, media support (posters, etc) for his teams! Our daughter would use the assistance of the Silhoutte in VBS activities, Girl Scouts, and school & Pre-school projects! The list is endless!! But the important idea here is that MANY people would benefit from its use as I plan to share it within several “communities”. Thank you for your sharing of this highly desirable prize. VP
