These little Oreo Love Bugs are easy to make and they are super cute too! Your kids will have fun making them, or you can surprise them on Valentine’s day. They also would make great classroom treats.
Oreo Love Bugs
- 1 bag of Wilton candy melts (red)
- 1 bag of Oreo cookies
- pack of small/medium candy eye’s
- Valentine’s sprinkles
Optional: Wilton Candy Melting Pot
First, melt your Wilton red candy melts. I love how convenient the Wilton Candy Melting Pot melts candy, you can turn the machine down to warm so you can take your time and not worry about the candy setting before your ready. I recommend one if you think it’s something that will get used occasionally at your home. If you don’t have a candy melting pot, you can microwave the candy melts in 30 second intervals in the microwave, make sure to stir after every 30 seconds. Cook until all is melted and smooth.
Dip each Oreo covering a little more than half of the cookie with the red candy melts. After each individual cookie dip, add heart shaped sprinkles. Set aside and let them set on wax paper. To add the eyes, just add a dab of the candy melt and secure onto the Oreo.
You are good to go.! You can add them to individual baggies for fun classroom valentine’s treats.
