I recenlty discovered P.F. Changs and constantly have a craving for their Mongolian Beef. I finally decided to make my own Mongolian Beef at home. It was actually quicker and easier than I thought it would be and the results were delicious!

- 1/2 teaspoon ginger minced
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup pack brown sugar
- 1 lb Flank steak
- 1/3 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 onion sliced
- 2 green onion sliced
Heat 2 tsp oil in pan over med-low heat. Add onion, ginger and garlic sauté for 2 minute. Add soy sauce, brown sugar and water and bring to boil. let boil for 4 minutes then set aside.
Slice flank steak into 1/4 inch slices and toss with corn starch. Place 1 tablespoon of oil in pan, cook meat (med/high heat) in small batches (about 2 minutes per batch). Add another tablespoon of oil if necessary to cook remaining meat. The meat will only be cook partially it will finish cooking when combined with the sauce.
Once all meat has been cooked combine into the pan with the sauce and heat on medium heat until hot and bubbling. Turn down heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in green onions and serve over rice.
Enjoy!
