There’s something incredibly satisfying about biting into a perfectly pan-fried gyoza! That delicate crisp bottom, the tender wrapper, and the juicy, flavorful filling. While store-bought options are convenient, making gyozas from scratch is a culinary adventure that’s far more rewarding than you might imagine. It allows for endless customization, ensures the freshest ingredients, and frankly, they just taste better. Get ready to impress yourself (and your taste buds!) with your very own batch of homemade gyoza.
Homemade Gyozas
- 52 wonton wrappers
- 1 lb ground chicken, turkey, or pork
- 2 cups cabbage, shredded
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 TBSP sesame oil
- 1 TBSP soy sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
In a food processor, add cooked ground meat, onions, cabbage, garlic, oil, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Pulse a couple times to make filling more of a fine texture.
Place equal portions of filling on each wrapper.
Brush the edges of each wrapper with water and seal the filling on the inside. Fold like a taco and gradually pinch and pleat to close and seal.
There are a couple options to cook! You can pan fry, steam, boil, or (my favorite) air fry them! They cook perfectly with a nice crisp edges. Serve with a sauce of your choice. My favorites include gyoza sauce, sweet chili sauce, and soy sauce. Enjoy!
