If you are an avid reader I highly recommend using a Kindle E-Reader! Right now you can save $20 on the all-new Kindle E-reader or the Kindle Paperwhite. I loved my Kindle so much I picked up one for each of my kids. Getting ebooks from the library is such a breeze! I no longer have late fees from forgetting to return physical books (Yep! I am one of these people that accrues late fees). I love the convenience of always having a ton of books on one small device. I also appreciate that the display on the kindle is softer and not too bright. I can also read in bright sun, which is what I love to do on vacation. Plus, they stay charged for weeks!
One more reason I love these Kindle E-readers for my kids is because they are only for reading. They are not tablets where they can get distracted by doing other things and going on the internet. We don’t allow any electronic devices in our kids rooms that have internet access so these are perfect for our family.
Between my kids and I we actually own 3 versions of the Kindle E-readers so I will share my thoughts with you on each one.
Kindle E-reader – The newest version of the Kindle E-reader is currently on sale for $59.99 (reg $79.99). This is a super price. Everything about this E-reader is great, the only drawback is there is not a built in light. I like to read in bed at night, so this was a big drawback for me. My son uses this one and if he wants to read at night he just leaves his bedroom light on or clips on a booklight. The fact that it doesn’t have a built in light doesn’t bother him at all. The new design is thinner and lighter than the previous model, it has a touch screen and now comes in black or white.
Kindle Paperwhite – This version is on sale for $99.99 (reg $119.99) and comes with a built in light. This is the version 2 of my kids own and I really love how easy it is to find them another book from the library and download it instantly. Of course, you have several free Kindle options too!
Kindle Voyage – I own the Kindle Voyage and it is probably one of my favorite things ever! The difference between this model and the Kindle Paperwhite is that there is an autolight sensor that changes the screen light depending on the lightness or darkness in the room. Honestly, I don’t really use this feature and I just darken and lighten the screen to meet my own preferences. The thing I do love is the fact that you can turn pages with a push of a button. On the other models you have to run your finger across the screen to turn the page. I guess that makes me a lazy reader, but I love it!! I really appreciate that it stays charged a long time because I do lots of reading. This comes with a much higher price tag of $199.99, but I don’t regret my purchase at all and it was worth every penny.
The sale prices on the Kindle E-readers ends 8/20/16.
