I’ve always considered wood to be an underappreciated material as far as accessories are concerned. There’s something about the natural textures that appeals to me. Which is why when I found out that JORD dealt in watches specifically made from wood I was really excited to see their handiwork. I chose the Fieldcrest series in Green Sandalwood.

The first thing I noticed when I received was the box; there’s something about a company that puts in the detail to make a product an experience and not just a purchase. I slid the lid open to reveal my watch sitting on a nice little pillow (so you can lay your watch to sleep each night). Picking it up you will notice how incredibly light the watch is, which in my book is a huge bonus, I’ve never been a fan of heavy bulky items, and the JORD watch was perfect because the weight was hardly noticeable.

The watch really looks unique, the grain and texture of the wood are really quite appealing. The service I received from JORD has been great, they asked for my wrist size prior to shipping so they could size the watch for me. I tried the watch on and it fit perfectly, there was no adjusting that needed to be done.

One thing I should mention is that because each watch is made from wood the texture and color may vary, mine was noticeably different from the image displayed on the website, however they have added helpful swatches showing the color and texture of each wood used in the watch which much more closely resembles mine. Don’t get me wrong though, this isn’t necessarily a downside, I like the uniqueness of each watch and love mine. It really is a piece that makes a statement, I got several compliments on it just wearing it out and about for a few days. If you’re looking for something that’s a bit unique yet at the same time incredibly functional JORD Wood Watches are where it’s at.
