Wikets is a new App available for your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. It combines your personal recommendations for places and products with a social media aspect. I don’t know about you, but the first thing I do before I buy an item is to check for reviews. With this App, I will be introduced to products and places that my friends recommend and they can see some of my favorites too.
Here’s where it gets fun, because you earn points by recommending products, songs, and restaurants to your friends. You can gain even more points when your friends re-rec them to their friends. Then you cash in your points for gift cards, a $25 Amazon gift card = 2,500 points! Once you sign up, you can start with a FREE 400 points just for using the promo code ThriftyandThriving (200 points for signing up and bonus 200 points for using the code).
The photo above shows the current recommendations I am seeing on my phone. You can see that somebody LIVES for Target, they are always there getting stuff for cheap. They are my new BFF!! Plus, somebody recommends Pandora, I have never tried that, but it might be something I will try out since I know others are raving about it.
Rec-ing things are simple, you just select Rec a Product, Rec a Place, or you can even scan a barcode. Its’s super simple! I will admit when I first tried this App I was a little confused by it. Once more people starting getting signed up and recommending products, it really started to “click” for me. With several kids in after school activities I spend a lot of time waiting in my car to pick them up. I am finding this new Wikets App is a fun new way to pass the time while I wait.
