Get MORE from your clothing budget: We get more from our clothing budget by buying items when they are on clearance. Buy clothing during the “off season” when you can find them for 80% off, and save them for next year. I have done this for all of my kids since my first was born, and it has saved us a ton of money!
Get MORE from your library: The library is a great FREE resource that saves our family so much money! You can get so much from the library than just books. You can check out movies, CD’s, magazines and more. The library even has FREE events like story time and fun events for children. You can even check out passes to museums at some libraries.
Get MORE done in the kitchen in less time: I love home baked bread, but I hate dragging out all the ingredients each an every time I want to bake some. To save myself time and energy when it comes to baking bread, I prepare all the ingredients for several loaves of bread at one time and then store them in containers. When I want to make a loaf of bread, I just dump all the pre-measured dry ingredients into my bread machine, add the water, butter and yeast and I am good to go. This method saves me so much time!
Get 99 Days of MORE: Tony’s Pizza is giving you “99 Days of More“! When you go to www.Tonys99DaysOfMore.com you can enter to win a $500 Visa Gift Card – they are giving one away every day! You can also win and Apple iTunes Gift Card or Nintendo Wii! They are also giving away 99 FREE Tony’s Pizzas.
Giveaway: I would love to hear your tips for getting more for less, let’s hear your secrets for saving time and money. Leave a comment with one of your tips, and I will draw two winners to each win a coupon for a FREE Tony’s Pizza! Giveaway will close on Friday, March 11th.

I do the same thing with clothes, buying off season always helps to save money.
My favorite more for less tips are usually kitchen related- I love making several batches of something at once (3 or 4 lasagnas at a time instead of one) and freezing, chopping veggies for tonight and tomorrow at once, and mean planning with the intention of incorporating whatever I’ll have leftover.

Whenever I have extra time in the kitchen, I chop veggies and store them in the freezer for use in meals later. It’s so nice to just reach in and grab what you need. Plus it saves me money on pre-packaged frozen veggies!

I spend one Sunday a month making spaghetti meat sauce and taco meat. I cook a large pot of ground meat with onion, salt and pepper. After it’s fully cooked I separate the meat into two pots. One pot turns into spaghetti sauce (by adding marinara sauce and spices) and the other taco meat (just by adding taco seasoning). I portion it all out and have 8 meat sauce meals and 8 taco meat meals for the month that are stored in my freezer when needed. Big time saver :).

When I am shopping for meat, I look for the “close to date” meat that has been reduced and buy all that I can! I freeze most of it and use it when I need it.

I also buy tons of clothes when they are cleanced at seaon’s end. Plus, I use the “Once a Month Cooking – Family Favorites”. This way, I can buy in bulk and spend an entire day making meals that actually last us about a month and a half. It’s a hard days work, but it saves so much time throughout the week!

I have ‘mapped out’ clearance sections and have learned what to look for as far as different stores clearance tags so when I go to the store I can quickly get to where I want to look. I also have my coupons well organized and I quickly glance through them to refresh myself to what coupons I have, then I usually get a chance to use them on clearance items to get free or almost free stuff!

We buy clothes in advance as well. We also shop clearance at all stores first, then we go on to the regular aisles. we get clearance meat, H&B products, fruit, etc. You just have to get to know each store.

I’m a big fan of garage sale shopping for the kids clothes. And I don’t just look for the current season – if I find something I like that will fit them in the future I get it and put it in a labeled bin with the size so I can find it later on. Then we go shopping in the basement!

When buying anything I search online for the best deal, percent off, free shipping, etc. Then I’ll shop clearance and use the discounts.

I buy meat that is on clearance that week and stick it in the freezer. Then I make my weeks worth of meal planning using the meat from the week before that I had bought on sale. Always saves me $$!

i try to make use of leftovers and turn it into another meal. if we have sloppy joe’s one night, then i’ll use the leftover sloppy joe meat for tacos or tostadas.

I make enough food for several meals and store them in the fridge for the week in Rubbermaid containers. I only have to reheat for a few minutes and I’m good to go!

Even when I dont shop off season I always manage to get cheap clothing as I basically only shop at the clearance rack or at stores like Ross, and tj maxx.
