Description
These Tart Cherry Scones with Vanilla Glaze are super easy to make and simply delicious.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 TBSP baking powder
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup butter frozen
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup half and half
- 1 cup fresh or frozen pitted tart cherries
Glaze
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups powder sugar
- 1–2 TBSP water
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients
Grate the chilled butter into the bowl of dry ingredients and work in with a pastry cutter
The mixture should be crumbly
Add egg and half and half in small bowl and whisk, gradually adding to the dry ingredients
- Chop the cherries and remove excess moisture with a paper towel
- Sprinkle them with a bit of sugar and flour
- Then, gently fold into dough mixture
- Spray the scone pan with cooking spray and pat the dough into the scone pan, filling it about 1/2 full
- Bake at 375 for 15 minutes
To make the glaze:
- In a small bowl. Add powdered sugar, 1 TBSP of water, and 1 tsp of vanilla
- Stir together and continue to slowly add water until you get the desired consistency
- After removing your scones from oven, top with vanilla glaze
Notes
- This recipe will make 8 scones with my scone pan)
- If you do not have a scone baking pan, simply shape the dough into 3 large circles and cut each circle into four pieces, forming 12 small scones.
- Best enjoyed warm
