All week long I will be focusing on the individual departments on their respective mark down day. I will go more in depth as to what you can find in each of the departments. Today I will focus on the departments that have their markdowns on Friday, which are Auto, Cosmetics, Hardware, & Jewelry.
As far as clearance days at Target, Friday is a little on the dull side. I can’t really get all that excited about clearance auto parts. That is why I try to do all my Target shopping on the fun clearance days like Monday and Thursday. Here is a quick summary of what you may find on clearance in each of these departments.
Jewelry:
There never seems to be a ton of clearance in the jewelry department, but you can find some deals once in awhile. The majority of the jewelry items seem to sell at 30-50% off. I don’t see too many jewelry items hit the 75% off mark.
Auto:
This is an extremely small department with not a lot of clearance, which is OK by me, because I don’t really head to Target looking for sweet deals on headlamps. If I was a guy, it might be a different story.
Hardware:
This isn’t a bad department when it comes to clearance. Tools make great gifts for the guys (or even girls) in your life. This is also a much smaller department, so you won’t find too much in the way of clearance. If I remember correctly, they have a nice selection of clearance items in January and then again about 6 months later.
Cosmetics:
I am not 100% certain they are still marking down the cosmetics on Friday, I am wondering if they get marked down on Wednesday with the rest of the health and beauty products. This is another department that you can often find some great deals, because there are often coupons that you can use in conjunction with the clearance prices. You can occasionally find items at 75% off, but you usually will have to do a little searching. These items often end up being thrown in a basket on one of the endcaps.
So, that wraps up the summary of each department on their respective markdown day. The final week of the Target Training is going to be my favorite week! I plan on showing you some creative ways to do your shopping. It should be fun!
