Last year the Halloween clearance went 75% off on November 4th, so today might be a good day to check to see if it has been marked down at your store. I am wondering if Target will be only marking the clearance items to 70% off this time around, let me know what you are finding at your store by leaving a comment here. Also, make sure you double check by scanning one of the items, don’t just go by what the sign says, sometimes the markdown happens but they don’t change the signs.
If you find some great deals, feel free to post a photo on the Thrifty and Thriving Facebook page, so others know what great deals to look for.
Here are a few photos of things you may want to check for while you are there. Several of these items will work for everyday use and not just Halloween!
These small packages of Legos would make great stocking stuffers. I love Legos almost as much as my kids.
The Halloween bags of Play-Doh only have Halloween decorations on the outside bag, which means they too would make great stocking stuffers.
These Cars Pez dispenser would also make great stocking stuffers. Are you starting to see a theme here? Seriously though, how nice would it be to have all your stocking stuffers purchased before November is half way over. Not to mention you are saving 75% off.
This Mr. Potato head would not make a great stocking stuffer, he is just too big to fit in a stocking. Instead, you will have to wrap him up as a gift.
If you are lucky you may find some of these bags of chips.
Watch for specialty baking mixes brought in just for Halloween. These look good!
You may want to see if you can find any of the Halloween themed Bounty paper towels, there is a good chance that all of these may have been snatched up at 50% off, but it’s worth checking.
While you are there, you can also check for the Bounty napkins.
In need of plastic cups for an upcoming party? You can get a great deal if you find either of the black or orange Solo plastic cups.
I noticed they had some silver and white candles in the Halloween decorations, either one of these would make great candles for Christmas. You can even use them to make your own Christmas centerpiece.
Check the costume accessories for fun items for role play. I know my little man would be thrilled with this light saber.
Last, but not least, check those Halloween costumes. You can pick some up for next year, or your kids can use them for dress up.
Please let us know what you are finding at Target and if you store has been marked down lower than 50% off. Don’t forget to post some photos on the Thrifty and Thriving facebook page, we love seeing your deals!
Unfortunately, I will have to miss out on the Halloween clearance this year, but don’t feel sorry for me, while you guys are picking up cheap candy, I will be relaxing here….

Thanks so much for the tips – I will check my Target today! Not sure where that picture is from with the palm trees and ocean, but I would love to be there too!!!

My Target in Utah is 70% instead of 75% – boo. They haven’t had the legos the whole halloween season, either, and the light sabers were gone before anything went on clearance . Oh well. I did pick up some costumes, CARS pez dispensers, and not too halloweeny shirts for the kids, so not a total loss.

Hey Christy. Both my Orlando stores were 70% today instead of 75%. Also, check the bagged lego sets hanging near the checkout. I was pleasantly surprised that while marked 3.99 they rang up 1.xx- I picked up a differnt star wars ( rep. Attack cruiser) and a ninjago (26 pc #30080). I found pumpkin spice hersey kisses and they are TDF -only 50% off candy. My store had tons of Halloween Mac & Cheese so I”m stocked up for a good while but I missed out on the tissues and I really needed to find those. I hope to venture to a few more stores on Sunday when/if things drop again to 90%

I was at the Gig Harbor one today and it was 70%. The legos were gone but I did grab the Lego advent calendar-city for $25. The price matched toy r us toy book and they took the $5 coupon off that price.

In Yakima, WA my Target was at 70 percent off. Mac and cheese was only 36 cents. Found some decorative lights and a few plates and napkins. Any idea when it should go to 90 percent off?

I was in the Albany, NY store today and Halloween items are also 70% off but candy is 50% off. I was able to pick up some Halloween books- Max and Ruby, Olivia and Fancy Nancy for 70% off! These were near the Halloween costumes in this store but in another store last week, I saw them in the book/electronics area. I also picked up purple and black fuzzy socks for $1.50.

North Phoenix showed 50% off signs, but scanned 70% off – not nearly as much clearance as usual after a holiday and NO candy left at all 🙁

Billings West End Target is @ 70% off. Got some costumes, candy (with a coupon I printed a few weeks ago), 2 legos, and some plain black gift bags to use for birthday party favors.

Lacey Target was 70% off. All the food and paperproducts were pretty much wiped out at noon the day after halloween. There were still a bunch a candy and costumes at 70%. I was in Hawaii visiting fam when the 75% summer toy clearance was going on. The target addict in me wanted to sneak to the nearest Target. But reality set in…I figured it would cost me an arm and a leg in baggage fees to haul it back. : P

Hey Brandy, Thanks for the tip on the Legos hanging by the cash registers. I went and checked mine and got Ninjago and Atlantis for 70% off.
I went to two different targets (California) and was able to pick up quite a bit. I found t-shirts, party games, candy and decorations for next year. I also found squinkies and zoobles for stocking stuffers. In addition I found a Halloween Barbie for 3.49 that I will use as a x-mas present.

Target in Western MA was at 70%….am I seeing a new pricing strategy in the works here perhaps.
Brandy says
Your welcome Beth–I found a zooble but I never saw the squinkies-what does the package look like so that I can check the regular isle? We buy for toys for tots all year and the squinkies might be popular with the older girls–my 4 year old dd has zero interst in them right now. Good score on the Barbie- I looked but she was gone in both my closest stores.
Susann says
Thanks so much for this post. I really scored! My Target was also 70% off. I bought a halloween gingerbread house kit that will work perfect for Christmas if I make my own white frosting and use Christmas colored candy. I also got 6 packs of zoobles and some halloween costumes (one being a princess dress which my daughter has already added to her dress up clothes). My Toy section had Bakugan toys 75% off (lots of them)! Nothing like birthday presents under $4.
Emily says
70% percent off in Richmond, VA, as well. I only had time for a quick trip first thing in the morning, so I got 7 costumes for my three boys for Christmas presents – they love to dress up! 🙂 I’m planning to go back tomorrow though, to see if anything decent is left when it drops again.

I went to the Redmond Target, which had a huge section of Halloween costumes, but most were only at 50% off (– and most were the expensive ones too, with original prices of $25 – $45 each).
Beth B says
Brandy, There are 3 different types of squinkies for Halloween. They are in either purple, green, or orange packages. They are small and include a bracelet and four squinkies. If you look closely to the packaging, there are pumpkins on it and it is sort of in the shape of a pumpkin. I found 5 of my six packages hanging in the regular aisle.
Brandy says
Thanks Beth… now I know what to look for tomorrow 😉 fingers crossed for 90% off!
Brandy says
Beth… I found one at 90%. I would have walked right by it if you hadn’t shared the package description. Thank you! Update on the legos–our all rang up $.39 today except for the toy story army men-they were still $3.99. I have to take 6 of them back because the SA just counted the total # after he scanned a Ninjago set. I didn’t know they were not part of the sale until a freind said hers rang up $3.99- so I’ll be taking mine back tomorrow.
