These cookies are not only pretty, but they are delicious too. I used a basic flower shape cookie cutter to make these pretty snowflake sugar cookies. Great for a winter celebration or gathering.
You can use your favorite sugar cookie recipe, or use the one I listed below:
- 3/4 cup butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 3/4 cup flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
Start with butter and sugar and mix together, add eggs and vanilla. Next add flour and baking powder and continue to mix until all combined. Roll out on lightly floured surface, cut out cookies and bake at 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Allow to cool completely before adding icing.
I personally love this recipe because it does not require refrigeration like most sugar cookies. I don’t like to wait for my sugar cookies.
Icing:
- 2 cups powder sugar
- 3 Tbsp milk
- 3 Tbsp corn syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Food coloring
Add all ingredients to mixing bowl and mix until smooth. I like to put icing in a decorated bag and cut off tip and frost the cookies that way gives you more control. I colored the icing light blue for the background color.
First add the light blue base layer of icing and let sit for 10 minutes until it sets.
Using a decorating bag and small round tip add snowflake detail and add white pearls for added detail. Enjoy!
