Smithsonian Magazine FREE museum day is coming Saturday, September 24th. You and a guest can get FREE admission to one of many participating museums. A ticket is required, so you will need to fill out this form in order to request you ticket. Your ticket will be emailed to you and will be good for 2 people.
To see a complete list of participating museums in your area, head over here and enter your address. Here are a few highlights of the participating museums in Washington:

I always suggest using these days to attend museums that don’t normally offer free days.
The Museum of Glass almost Never has deals (except on 3rd Thursday evenings during art walk), and it’s pricey, so that would be my pick!
Ft.Nisqually is also really fun for kids, and rarely has deals, though I think there are bogo coupons in the Entertainment book. It’s quite a bit less expensive than mog, though.
