Me and 3 of my boys headed to the Tacoma Dome to see the DreamWorks How to Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular. This show follows the same storyline as in the How to Train a Dragon movie:
In the far-away land of Berk, a young Viking named
Hiccup struggles to find his place in the world. While
his father and classmates only seem to care about
fighting Dragons, Hiccup doesn’t quite fit in.One fateful day, Hiccup befriends an injured Dragon
that he names Toothless. Together, Hiccup and
Toothless establish a high-flying friendship that will
change them forever – uniting Vikings and Dragons
in a spectacular battle to save both their worlds.
The first thing I can say is the scenery was amazing. Everything was done with visual graphics projected onto the background and onto the stage floor. One of my favorite moments was when Hiccup ran across the countryside, which was a high wire acrobatic performance done entirely on the stage wall. It was stunning!
Of course there are also the dragons! These were jaw-dropping amazing. They really were very life like. Not only did they walk across the stage floor, they also had them flying through the air, breathing fire, and so much more.
Your kids will love the Dragons and you will be mesmerized by the scenery. Another favorite of mine was when the ships went to find the nest, an entire fleet of paper lantern viking ships went sailing across a sea of blue light. It was simply breathtaking! My pictures don’t really do the show justice and quite honestly I am not sure any pictures can, it something you have to see in person to see how breathtaking the backgrounds and dragons really are.
The next stop on the tour is in California, if you are interested in purchasing tickets, you can do so HERE.
My family was given tickets to the How to Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular in exchange for this review. I have shared my honest thoughts and opinions with you.
