I love waking my family up to warm biscuits in the morning. These are great because they mix the tartness of cranberries and orange with the goodness of a biscuit. I love the orange icing that is drizzled on top. Give these a try!
Orange Cranberry Biscuits

Biscuit Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 Tablespoon sugar
- 1 Tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon finely shredded orange peel
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1/2 Cup Shortening
- 1/2 Cup Dried Cranberries
- 1 8oz Orange or Vanilla yogurt (or plain yogurt+ increase sugar 1/8 cup)
- 1 Tablespoon Milk
Icing ingredients:
- 2 teaspoons orange juice
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
In bowl add Flour, Sugar, Salt, Baking Powder, Baking soda, and Shortening and combined with a pastry cutter.
Next, you will want to add the cranberries, yogurt and milk.
Mix the ingredients together until it forms a ball. Place dough on floured surface and knead dough 10 to 12 times.
Roll out dough to 1/2 inch thickness and cut to 2″ round circles. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes.
To make the icing, add the powdered sugar and orange juice, mix until combined and smooth.
Drizzle the icing on to warm biscuits and enjoy. These biscuits are best served warm. Enjoy!

This looks like a delicious recipe, but there is no mention of the cranberries in the ingredients or instructions. How much is used, and are they dried cranberries?

I can’t believe we left out one of the most important ingredients. Sorry about that! I have adde the cranberries to the post.
