Now is a Great Time to Shop for Clothing

I mentioned in THIS post, how I shop for clothing, and I am able to clothe my family with clothes that I buy between 75 – 90% off. Well, now is the time that all of the stores are starting to clear out their spring and summer items to make way for the new fall clothing lines.

I was at Kohl’s last night, and I found tons of racks of clothing at 80% off, I even found a few items at 90% off. You can view all of Kohl’s online clearance HERE. If you are a Kohl’s charge card holder, you can use the following codes for an even bigger discount.

15% off = SAVE15NAUG (exp. 8/9)

20% off $100 or more = THEBIG20

Free Shipping = MVC1617 (exp. 8/9)

JCPenney has an additional 40% off their clearance prices, making the items 70% off the original price. There clearance starts out at 50% off the regular price. Here is an example:

$30.00 regular price

$15.00 clearance price (50% off)

-$6.00 (additional 40% off clearance price)

$9.00 = Final price (= to 70% off regular price)

To make their clearance deals even better you can use one of the coupons that they sometimes have in their ad ($10 off $50 purchase or $15 off $75 purchase). These coupons are in their current ad that expires on Saturday, August 8th.

They will eventually go to an additional 50% off the clearance prices, making the final cost 75% off the regular price. I will do my best to keep you updated when that happens.

Check out the clearance racks at Gymboree. You can find an additional 20% off coupon in lots of magazines that will make your money go even further. Remember, you may pay a little more for Gymboree clothing, but they have a great resale value if you are looking to earn some of your money back.

These discounts don’t just include clothing. Stores clear out all departments to make way for the new seasons products. The Target toy clearance is a great example of this. If you are looking for baby furniture, car seats, strollers, etc now is a great time to check out Target, they have some clearance items marked down to 50% off (stores vary on markdowns, so your store may not be 50% off yet, or they may be sold out.)

Just keep your eyes open when you are at any store, you should be able to find some great deals this time of the year!
