My daughter and I are having fun planning and preparing for her Tropical themed birthday party. We just finished her invitations, and we think they turned out super cute. We went with a message in a bottle and added some fun tropical embellishments like sand, umbrella, shells and sunglasses. We plan on hand delivering her invitations so we aren’t worried about sending them in the mail. Here is how we made her invitations:
We bought bottles of pop, drank them, peeled off the stickers, got the sticker residue off with Goo Gone (love that stuff!), washed and dried them and then added the following to each bottle:
- Sand
- Drink Umbrella
- Sunglasses (These are decorative buttons)
- Sea Shells
- Invitation (Printed with computer and rolled up)
- Cork
Most of the supplies were bought at Michaels craft store (using a coupon of course!). The corks were bought at JoAnn Fabrics and the drink umbrellas were bought at Party City.
We will be sure to update you about the rest of the party planning. I am keeping track of how much I am spending, and I wlll give you a final total once the party is over. I’d love to hear how much you normally spend on your kid’s birthday parties.
