If you plan on heading to Disneyland before February 28, 2013, you may want to get yourself to Costco…quick!! Costco is selling 4-Day Disneyland Park Hoppers for $259, the regular rate on the Disneyland website is $275. However, these Costco 4-Day Park Hoppers also include a $50 Costco Cash card (which I consider like cash since I shop at Costco anyway), which bring the cost of the 4-day Park Hoppers to only $209.
Disneyland 4-Day Park Hopper $259
Receive $50 Costco Cash card with purchase
Final Price = $209 when you factor in the Costco Cash Card
There are not many ways to get a discount on admission into Disneyland, so this is a super deal! I got mine (actually my husband picked them up on his lunch break)!
Here are the details:
- These passes work for adults and kids, there is not a cheaper pass for children.
- Passes will expire 13 days after activation or on March 13, 2013 (which ever happens first).
- Costco stores are just now getting these in, if you want to call and check if your store has them the item number is #672884 (they have been spotted in California, Washington, Oregon and Arizona…so far).
- They are not available online.
A big huge thanks to the poster over at DisBoards!

I just heard about these! We are planning a 3-day Disney trip just before Christmas. We have 4 kids and they will be 2 1/2, 5, 7, and 9 on our trip. Even if we only go for 3 do you think this would be worth it? Just to double check…these aren’t transferrable are they? They gave to be used by the same person each time? One other thing we are considering is 1 park per day passes. Do you think we could do a whole day in CA adventure? Any advice anyone has is appreciated!
Christy says
Hi Tricia, Yes you most certainly can do an entire day at California Adventure, especially with the new Cars Land that opened. My kids are older, but we easily can spend a day in California Adventure. Your whole family can go on the Toy Story Midway Mania ride, which is one of our favorites. There is a fun area for the kids to run around and climb (Redwood Creek Challenge Trail). Plus, there are lots other great things aimed at the younger kids and the World of Color show at the end of the day. Your family may find more to do at Disneyland, but I think you will find enough to keep you busy at California Adventure too.
No, these are not transferable, each pass can only be used by the same person.
You would have to crunch some numbers and see if these would be good for you. Our plan was to only spend 3 days in the parks, but it still worked out to be a good deal for us (4 of our kids are considered adults by Disney standards). 3-Day park hopper for 9 and under are $235 and $250 for adults (I figure the $209 final Costco price beat that). If you just plan on going the one park tickets, it wouldn’t make sense to buy these for the kids, because those tickets only cost $205.
Gwen says
WOW! What a deal. Thanks for sharing Christy. We go every February but were going to take this year off and go in Oct. 2013. We may have to rethink that 🙂
Rachel Spore says
Shoot! We’re planning a trip March 4 – 8, 2013 – we’d have to somehow activate them on February 28 to use them during our time there? Is that even possible? Or am I just out of luck, unless I move our vacation backward.
Tara Reeve says
How do you call? I have been calling and calling….. and Costco hangs up cause which department do I want?
Christy says
@Tara Which Costco are you trying to buy them at? You don’t need any certain department, you just ask them if they have the item number in stock. They will input it into their computer and let you know how many they have on hand. If you can’t get through you may have to head to he store, any cashier can also check the item number and let you know if they have them in stock.

Anyone knows how much it would cost extra to upgrade to an annual pass with these tickets? (Disney typical upgrade fee is the difference from how much you paid for the tickets (they seem to have that info) and the advertised price for the annual pass) Will they use the $259 or $209? (I’m thinking it would be whatever value $$ will be on the ticket.
Christy says
@Phil J We will be upgrading one of our tickets tomorrow, I will let you know how it goes and what amount they credit the pass at.
Christy says
I upgraded to an annual passport and got the full value of a 4-day park hopper, not the price I paid at Costco. So, I got a credit of $275. Awesome deal!
Erin Forney says
I am SO SO bummed. We leave for Disneyland on March 19th and these parkhoppers must be used by March 13th. 🙁 Does anyone know if Costco will be doing these parkhoppers again, or will it be months from now? I plan on getting mine from getawaytoday.com , but would wait if I knew they’d be doing another lot of them.
Jan Silva says
I think you can buy them as separate transactions and use the $50.00 gift card towards the second ticket, which would make the total even cheaper.
Christy says
@Jan
Yes, you can buy them in separate transactions, and use the gift cards on the other tickets. I had to buy 7, so separate transactions seemed like too much work, especially since I knew I shop at Costco anyway, and I would easily be able to get the gift cards.
Christy says
@Erin
I have no idea if they plan to carry these in the future. I think they carry them off and on around holiday time.
Jason says
@Christy
Which Annual Pass did you purchase? The SoCal Select is only $269, so did you have to purchase a more expensive Annual Pass?
Christy says
@Jason My husband purchased the Premier Annual Pass which includes admission into Disneyland and Disney World for a year (no black out dates), because we have a kidless Disney World trip planned for December, and he plans to take one of my boys after graduation next year.
I am not sure how it would work if you went with a pass that was cheaper. I would check out this thread at DisBoards, maybe somebody may have an answer there.

Just wanted to mention that I’m a 9 year Costco employee and we haven’t had Disney tickets for quite some time. And the computer does not show any new items coming up after this. I think Costco was able to do this deal because it goes into Disney’s slow season. Great value! I love Costco!
Debbie says
Hi we are looking to go for Christmas. Do you know if they have a black out date on them?
Christy says
@Debbie. No, there are blackout dates that I know of.
Sarah says
Do you know if you can upgrade from a 4 to a 5 day pass? If so, do you do it at Costco or call Disney? Or do it when you get there and activate your 4 day?
Christy says
@Sarah You sure can upgrade it! You would do this at the Disney theme park, and it needs to be done before the end of the 4th day you use your pass.
So, if you aren’t sure if you will need 5 days you can just use the pass and then upgrade on the last day you visit. If you know for sure, just go to one of the ticket windows and upgrade them before you enter the parks.
We upgraded one of our tickets to an annual pass and was given a credit on the full value of the ticket ($275).
Felicia says
Do you know if these include an early morning entry?
Christy says
@Felicity Yes, they include one Magic Morning entry, which comes will all 3-day (or longer) Park Hopper passes. This will get you one early entry into Disneyland.
This is different than Extra Magic Hour which will get you in an hour early on certain days to Disneyland or California Adventure when you stay at a Disney Hotel.
doug p says
How do they check to make sure they are not transferred from one party to another party during the 13 days? Or do they check at all? I’ve always shared these with people and had no problem transferring them, but someone told me that they recently starting checking ID, when you use these, but I find that hard to believe. Any insight from anyone?
Christy says
I used these at the park, we had to write our name on the passes and they checked ID for all of the adults each time we entered the park. You will not be able to transfer these.
doug p says
What if when I went to use it I said “I dont have my ID with me? I only use cash for all purchase.” Then what would they do? Also, it sounds like for children, you could do the pass sharing thing for sure right?
Christy says
None of these passes are meant to be transferred, it states so directly on them. They are meant for one person only. I personally would not abuse the system and I recommend they same for all of my readers. So, no I would not recommend you share this pass with any one else other than the person it was purchased for.
They have set up special entrances for these passes now, because of the abuse. I wouldn’t be surprised if they eventually switch to the fingerprint system like they have at Disney World.
Paul says
Can I use this pass for 3 times and then upgrade to annual pass on the 4th visit? How will the upgrade price work for this? Just curious.
Christy says
Yes, you can upgrade to an annual pass before before your 4th visit (I confirmed this while I was there a month ago). We upgraded one of ours to a Premier pass, and got a credit of $275. You will have to check the price on the pass you want to upgrade to, if it is cheaper than $275, you may have to upgrade to a more expensive pass.
Paul says
Good to know. I thought they would deduct the days used and apply the difference to the annual pass. I’m looking to get the $329 one.
Theresa says
We just used these and they print your name on your ticket and you have to show ID no exceptions!! They are getting REALLY strict because of the people renting tickets! They did put “minor” on my sons tickets but even asked for a school ID. Was happy to have them upgraded for the full $275!! That was awesome! I’m looking for two more….. Hoping they r still around somewhere
roxanne says
I’m confused.. It says expires on February 28th but then on the bottom it says expires by March 13th. So which one is it?
Christy says
@roxanne Your first use of the card needs to be before February 28th, and then you have 13 days to the use the final days on your card, which would be March 13th if you used your card for the first time on February 28th. These are no longer available in stores though.
