When the weather is cold and wet, our family looks for fun indoor projects. This recipe for homemade play dough is awesome! My son will spend hours with this fun and creative activity. Even my older boys will join in and make fun creations. It’s a great family activity. This PLay Dough is quick and easy to make with ingredients you probably already have on hand.
Homemade Play Dough
- 3 cups water
- 1 1/2 cup salt
- 3 cups flour
- 2 TBSP oil (vegetable or canola)
- 2 TBSP cream of tartar.
- Food coloring
On stovetop over medium-low heat add water, salt, oil, and cream of tartar. Stir with wooden spoon until dissolved.
Add flour and continue to stir. Remove from heat.
Divide dough into 4, add desired food coloring and work through with your hands until it is all mixed in.
We use cookie cutters, rolling pins, scissors and more to create and make all kinds of creations. Easy clean up with water. Store in a air tight container. Enjoy!
**Keep away from your furry friends, the large amount of salt can be dangerous for your pets to ingest.
