I don’t know about you, but when it gets really close to Christmas, I have no desire to head into any of the stores. I still have a few more neighbor gifts to put together, so I am getting creative and re-purposing packaging I already have around the house.
I got this package from Vocal Point a month or two ago, and I saved it, because I knew I would be able to reuse it some how.
I covered the back with a piece of scrapbook paper, tied a bow around the sides, and added a doo dad leftover from the Christmas centerpieces. I filled it with chocolates, and now I have myself a cute little package to give to someone.
Next up! I plan on dressing up this metal tin and filling it with some Chex Mix. I would love to hear any creative ideas you have to package up some homemade (or store bought) Christmas goodies.

I love the repurpose idea. Maybe you could spray paint the metal tin can a darker color to cover the lettering and add some greenery and a bow?

I love the spray paint idea! Use chalk board paint and doodle your Christmas greeting and some holly leaves and berries right on the can!! Merry Christmas!!

I am loving the can idea we got from MOPS!
I am putting homemade goodies, candies and even gift cards in them.

You girls are brilliant!! I may even run to the store to pick up some chalkboard paint, that sounds like it would be fun, and it would turn out really cute. Thanks for sharing!

I used to make a “knitted” mat with ribbon to cover cans… I did that for my teachers when I was in school… 🙂 Just attach with a glue gun…

I would use a Christmas – y colored yarn. .. and like we did in school when we were kids – start at the bottom and coat with Elmer’s glue. Then while the glue is still wet, start winding the yarn around the can, making sure that the can does not show through. Keep glueing and wrapping the yarn until you reach the top. A ribbon and a cheap ornament to tie around it – and you’re done.
