There is something special about homemade Cinnamon Rolls. They are great on the weekend or for a special occasion. Here is my favorite Cinnamon Roll recipe. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family does.
Cinnamon Rolls
- 1/2 cup very warm water (110 degrees)
- 1 package of active dry yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 6 TBSP melted butter
- 2 TBSP oil
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 4 1/2 cups flour
Filling:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 TBSP cinnamon
- 6 TBSP melted butter
Cream Cheese Glaze:
- 2 oz cream cheese
- 2-4 TBSP milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
In bowl add warm water and yeast, mix together and let sit for a couple minutes until it is foamy. Add to mixing bowl. Add sugar, milk, eggs, melted butter, oil and vanilla extract. Mix until combined. Add salt and baking powder, then gradually add flour. Dough should pull from the sides of the bowl.
Form dough into a large ball and cover and let rest for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
Gently punch dough to release air. Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface and knead dough a couple times. Shape dough into a rectangular shape. Brush dough with half of the melted butter.
In bowl mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over the entire surface of the dough. Brush with remaining butter. Begin to tightly roll up dough. Slice 12 – 1 1/2 inch pieces and place in pan prepped with non-stick cooking spray. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
Make glaze by adding cream cheese and melted butter in a bowl, whip together. Add vanilla. Gradually add milk and powdered sugar. Add enough milk to make smooth and silky. Add Icing on warm cinnamon rolls and enjoy!

Ok I am not happy. The eggs were left out of the recipe and the dough is obviously too sticky as is. I had to add more flour but I seriously doubt they are going to come out right. I did add the eggs in cuz I caught that mistake. Amend your recipe after someone complains please.

I am so sorry Rebecca! Thanks for catching that error. We’ve added the eggs into the instructions.
