Breakfast food is always some of the best! Today I am sharing a Ham and Cheese Quiche recipe that is sure to please your entire family.
- 1 Pie Crust (1 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup Shorting, 1/2 teaspoon salt, cold water)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1½–2 cup diced cooked ham
- 1 (8-oz) package shredded cheese of choice
- 5 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk (or whatever milk you have on hand)
- ½ tsp pepper
First thing you will want to do is preheat oven to 400 degrees.
To make pie crust, add flour shortening and salt using a pastry cutter, mix together, add cold water one tablespoon at a time until it all sticks together. Roll out and place in pie pan. You can use store bought pie crust if you must, but we may not be able to be friends anymore if you do. : ) Homemade pie crust is so easy and tastes so much better.
Dice ham and onions. Cook onions with ham in a skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally. Cook for about five to eight minutes.
Add ham and onions into pie shell and sprinkle cheese on top.
Next up, we need to make the egg mixture. Whisk together eggs, cream, milk, rosemary, and pepper.
Pour into the pie pan over the ham and cheese.
Bake until top is golden and custard is set in center, 30 to 40 minutes. If it’s browning too quickly on top and the center is still not set, loosely cover with foil and place back into the oven for five to eight minutes.
Cool slightly before cutting into wedges. Enjoy!
