Want to be the coolest person ever? Buy someone the Nostalgia Electrics Hard & Sugar-Free Candy Cotton Candy Maker and you will be!
We saw this little machine demonstrated at Fred Meyer last summer and thought it was the coolest thing ever. We waited a couple of weeks for it to go on sale and finally bought one. It is great to have around for parties or family gatherings. Adults get just as excited about it as kids do.
Here’s the best part, you can use hard candy to make the cotton candy, you don’t have to have any special cotton candy sugar. All it takes is 2 pieces of hard candy, Lifesavers are our favorites! The cool part is the cotton candy takes on the flavor of whatever candy you use. Trust me, LifeSaver cotton candy tastes way better than the regular sugary kind. YUM!
You have to heat the machine up for 5 minutes before you start making the cotton candy, but once it is warm, just add your 2 pieces of candy. Once you see the candy floss, just start twirling.
Then comes the best part…eating the Cotton Candy. It is great because kids get the fun of cotton candy, but all they are really eating is 2 pieces of candy (unless of course they make 4 of them, then it’s more like 8 pieces of candy)
We really do love this little machine, it is great to pull out when we have a movie night or when we have friends over. It is a huge hit and loved by all.
Amazon currently has the Nostalgia Electrics Hard & Sugar-Free Candy Cotton Candy Maker priced at $35.99. The regular retail price is $50.
The machine comes with to hard plastic cotton candy cones, that you can use over and over. We usually just use these and then slide the cotton candy off onto a napkin for the kids to enjoy. However, if you want some Cotton Candy Cones, Amazon has a pack of 100 priced at $9.99.
For the next week or two I am sharing some of our family favorite games, toys and more. These are items that have been used over and over at our house and are items that I would gladly purchase again…even at full price.

My sister uses Butterscotch or Root Beer barrels. They are very good and easy to make.
