Description
These Gingerbread Cookie Bars make a tasty treat you can enjoy year round!
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 1/4 cup flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
Frosting:
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 3 cup powder sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F. Line 13×9 pan with parchment paper
- In a mixer, add butter and sugar. Beat together until fluffy
- Add vanilla, egg and molasses and mix until combined
- Add the rest of the dry ingredients and mix until combined
- Press cookie dough into prepared pan and bake until it slightly browns toward the edges, about 15-20 minutes
- Allow to completely cool before frosting
To make the frosting,
- Beat butter and cream cheese, gradually adding powdered sugar
- Beat for a couple minutes until light and fluffy
- Spread over cooled bars and add sprinkles if desired
- Cut into bars
