I am sure you know by now that our family loves to spend our family vacations at the Disney Theme Parks!! We have gone every year for the last 3 years, and we also have a trip planned for this winter! My husband and I have also snuck in 2 “kidless” trips to Disneyland the last two years too!
I think the anticipation and planning is part of the fun of a Disney vacation too. We enjoy watching Disney documentaries and the Disney planning DVD’s before our trips. Yep, we’re Goofy like that! (pun intended).
You can order a FREE Disney Planning DVD to help you plan and get excited for a your future trip to a Disney Theme Park. I highly recommend the FREE Disney Planning DVD, the Parks are huge and can be overwhelming and it really gives you lots of helpful information.
The Disney Planning DVD includes the following:
- Complete tour of the 4 Theme Parks, 2 Water Parks and over 20 Resort hotels at the Walt Disney World® Resort in Florida
- A tour of the Disneyland® Resort in California, including 2 enchanting Theme Parks and 3 Resort hotels
- Affordable ways to play and stay during your Disney vacation
- Plus much more, including pocket-sized planning guides, planning tips, and information on special events.
Are you heading to a Disney Theme Park soon? Will you be visiting Disney World or Disneyland? Make sure you check out all of my Disney on a Budget posts.

We’re planning to sneak in a “kidless” trip in August. Since it’s a research trip for my book, we’ve convinced our five-year old that it’s all work and there won’t be a lot of time for fun. 😉 He’s okay with us going now.

Hi Christy,
Quick question. My husband and I just took advantage of the current Southwest deal (see link below) by opening up two separate cards which we will cancel after running one transaction, earning us 1700 in SW travel bucks. Long story short, we want to take the fam to Disneyland next summer. However, I see the link for the Disney planning DVD is no longer available. Do you know of any other resources for this? Thanks so much, and thanks for all you do!!!

@Mary
The DVD is still available, I just fixed the link for you. We did the same type of CC deal with JetBlue to get us some FREE flights.

Have you booked your hotel yet? I think you had mentioned that you got a good deal mid-Aug for a Sept. vacation. I’m going after Labor Day and was trying to hold out for a good deal, but I’m starting to get antsy!
Christy says
@Kim Yes, I have my hotel booked, we are going in December. Do you plan on staying at a Disney hotel? If not, you can probably find a great rate at any of the neighboring hotels.
kim says
We want to stay at the Grand Californian. I think the deals are not too bad that I’m finding on the Disney site and Costco – they’re pretty much the same. Thanks!
Christy says
@Kim That is where we are staying for the first time as a family. We received a pin code (for the first time ever!) for 40% off the standard rate.
You have probably already checked the special offers page here: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/special-offers/?int_cmp=DLR_Homepage_SeeOurSpecialOffersTile
I would also check how much the package would cost here: https://www.getawaytoday.com/
Let me know how you do!!
kim says
How did you get a pin code?
Christy says
@Kim This post over at the Affordable Mouse explains all about pin codes.

Thank you! I did check out getawaytoday, but the Disney site & Costco have better prices. But it’s always good to have comparisons – makes me feel better about making such a big purchase!
I have a tentative reservation on hold that I plan on booking tonight. I’ll be sure to ask to see if I have a pin code attached to my account, as we have stayed there before, and have a rewards account.
I really appreciate all the information and your quick responses. Love your site! Thanks, again!
Kim
