I think getting informed about a Disney vacation is an important part to saving money and having an enjoyable vacation. There are so many books out there, it can be overwhelming. I am a big fan of checking books out from the library, but I think owning a Disney book comes in handy for planning and enjoying your Disney vacation. Here are some tips to make sure you get the right book, and that you get a good deal on it too.
- Check out Amazon.com for reviews on the books you are interested. I love purchasing books from Amazon, because they have great prices. Plus, I can use my gift certificates that I earned from SwagBucks, so I don’t spend any of my own money. Love that! You can also order the Kindle version of books, these are usually cheaper than the paper versions. Don’t have a Kindle? You can download the kindle software for your PC, Mac, iPhone, or Blackberry and read them on your computer.
- Check the books out from the library first to see which you prefer.
- Buy used books from Ebay or Half.com.
- Don’t limit yourself to the current years book. Each year they come out with a new edition. There are quite a few things that change over the years, but there aren’t too many differences from one year to the next. You can save money by picking up the 2009 edition instead of the 2010 edition.
- If you have a friend or family member that recently went on a Disney trip, you can see if you can borrow any books they may have.
- Check out Half Price Books for any Disney books they may have. They have some coupons right now too, that would come in handy. They have 2 printable coupons on their site – one for 40% off and one for 50% off. (Thanks to The Coupon Project!)
- You can also skip the books all together and get all your information online. All of the information is probably online somewhere, but I really enjoy having all my information in one spot that I can take with me when I need it.
I will be sharing 4 Disney books over the next 4 weeks that I found helpful, so you can decide if any of them would be good to help you plan and enjoy your next Disney vacation.

Hey Christy,
I love the new site. I look forward to seeing what books you recommend. Our Disney trip is almost here & we are so super duper excited. We are still under our $1500 budget @ this point. I found a great spacious jogging stroller for my daughter today for only $10!!!! ( We don’t want to have to carry her around when she gets tired). Please keep the disney on a budget posts coming!!
