These Chewy Double Chocolate Chip Cookies are a chocolate lovers dream!
Ingredients

- 1 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 cup flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup cocoa powder, unsweetened
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips (reserve 1/3 for top of cookies)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350. Line baking sheet with silicone mat or parchment paper
- Cream butter with both sugars until light and fluffy
- Add vanilla and egg to mixture and combine
- In a medium bowl, add your dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder
- Mix together until incorporated
- Gradually add dry ingredients to butter mixture and stir until everything is combined
- Mix in 1 2/3 cup of chocolate chips. Save the final 1/3 cup for topping the baked cookies
- With a cookie scoop, scoop out dough and place on baking sheet
- Bake for 8 minutes
- When the cookies come out of the oven, add the remaining chocolate chips to the top of your cookies by gently pressing 3-5 chocolate chips onto the surface while they are still soft
- Allow cookies to cool for 2 minutes before transferring to cooling rack to finish cooling completely
Notes
To freeze, use a cookie scoop and lay out scooped cookie dough on a lined baking sheet. Place in freezer for 2-4 hours, then remove the dough from baking sheet and add to a freezer bag. You can store in freezer for up to 3 months. When you’re ready to bake just remove from freeze add to baking sheet, bake and enjoy! Keep in mind, you will need to increase baking time by about a minute
