HereĀ is a great fall recipe your family is sure to love. This Caramel Apple Coffee Cake makes a great breakfast treat or dessert.
Here are the ingredients you need to make this Caramel Apple Coffee Cake:
Topping:
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
Cake:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 medium apples peeled and thinly sliced
- Caramel topping- use as much as you like
For the Streusel topping mix together dry ingredients in aĀ bowl. Ā Add melted butter and blend together with fork. Ā Set aside.
Next make the cake. Ā With mixer, whip butter and add sugar. Ā Add eggs and beat well, add sour cream and vanilla continue to beat. Ā In aĀ separateĀ bowl stir together dry ingredients and then add to butter mixture and mix until combined.
Spread half of batter into a greased 10″ springform pan. Ā Ā Add a layer of sliced apples and sprinkle half of the crumble topping over top. Ā Add remaining batter and the rest of the crumbs of the top.
Drizzle caramel sauce over top of cake. (the squeeze bottle brand works best.) Ā Cook at 350 F for 50 minutes. Ā Let cool and remove from pan. Ā Slice and enjoy!
