I would like to know how to go about getting the American Girl dolls for a good price. Any advice?
It’s not that easy to find a great deal on the American Girl dolls, free shipping is usually the best you will get from their site.
A couple years ago I got one at HSN.com that came with some outfits, it was discounted fairly well compared to the retail prices at American Girl. I think they only sell the dolls around Christmas time though.
If you don’t mind a used doll, I would check Craigslist. You could also check Ebay, but they usually go fairly high.
Oh, and one more thing, you can get dolls at Target that are similar to the American Girl dolls for about $30 if you don’t think your daughter will mind it not being a true American Girl doll. The Target dolls are called “Our Generation”.
I do have to say that even though they are expensive, it has been one of the better purchases we have made. Allie loves hers, and plays with it often.
