There were lots of you that enjoyed my son’s post on how to get FREE books for your eReader, so I thought I would share some things you can do to pick up an eReader at a discount, or even for FREE!
Swagbucks – I am a HUGE fan of Swagbucks! Using Swagbucks is a super easy way to get yourself FREE Amazon gift cards. If you aren’t using Swagbucks currently, you should sign up for Swagbucks today. Â Sign up today, and you will earn 30 points for FREE to get started. Â You can use Swagbucks as a search engine (just like you would use Google) only instead you are rewarded with Swagbucks, which you can turn in for gift cards. Use Swagbucks religiously and you will be able to get several Amazon gift cards for FREE, making an Amazon Kindle even more affordable.
Office Store Reward Programs – Lots of Office stores have rewards programs, such as Staples, Office Max, and Office Depot. Most of the time when you buy the reward products, you are given money back in the form of a gift certificate for that store. This is what I used to pick up an eReader for a FREE for my son for Christmas. Whenever they had 100% back on batteries and other things I knew we would use I would purchase the maximum amount. When I finally got the rewards back, I used them to purchase an eReader. Reader Danielle also did the same thing with rewards she got back from Staples. You can see everything she bought with her rewards in the photo below (See the Kindle?).
MyPoints – MyPoints is the rewards program that I have been using the longest – nearly 10 years! At one point, we earned enough gift cards for Home Depot that we bought ourselves an outdoor grill. These rewards programs really work! MyPoints offers gift cards for both Barnes & Noble and Amazon, so you could use your cards to pick up a Nook or Kindle. MyPoints will offer you points when you shop through their site. You can also earn simple points by clicking on links that they send you in an email (you may want to sign up with a “junk” mail account). You can sign up and get started with MyPoints HERE.
Did you pick up an eReader at a discount? I would love it if you would share any tips or tricks you have for getting a deal on an eReader.

I just went and signed up for MyPoints. I’ve never heard of this one before. I do Swagbucks though. Is there any other info you can give on how this whole MyPoints works? Just browsing around, their site is a bit confusing. How exactly do you earn points? Do you go there and shop through them, etc.? I’m not sure exactly how it works. Thanks for your help.
I was wondering if you could help me find ways to get an EReader for free.
