Looking to get an e-reader, but worried about not wanting to spend money on books? Well, your in luck! There are several opportunities out there to get FREE e-books. Here are four of the best ways to get FREE e-books.
1. Local Libraries (Overdrive): Many local libraries will actually have an online database of e-books that you can check out. With the use of Overdrive, software that allows you to check out and download e-books to your reader device, you can have access to a large supply of books in several formats including audio-book formats if you prefer. Kindle is now supported by Overdrive, so they should work with most library systems now. You can view the King County Library selection HERE.
2. Project Gutenberg: Project Gutenberg is a great site for free classic books that are now public domain titles, meaning nobody has the rights to them anymore. There are over 100,000 classic books that are free to download in just about any format that you would need, meaning you can download it to any mobile device you own.
3. Lend Ink: LendInk.com is a place where you can have other e-reader owners lend you their books using the technology already present in your reader. You can request books that you want to loan and Lend Ink searches their database of members who own that book. Â They will send the book owners an email, and then they will loan you the book.
4. Online Book Store: Both Amazon (Kindle)
