I never fill a prescription without first looking for a coupon. There are so many places that will offer a gift card for a new or transferred prescription. Target will often offer a $10 gift card. I was thrilled when I picked up the new coupon book at Albertsons and noticed a coupon on the back cover that will get you a $25 Albertsons gift card for a new or transferred prescription.
I paid $5 for my prescription and got the FREE $25 gift card. I can’t wait to see how far I can stretch the $25 gift card, especially with the double coupons that are available this week.

Generally you can use the gift card to purchase any gift card that the grocery store or pharmacy sells like Gap, Old Navy, JoAnn’s, etc… When purchasing a store gift card with your free gift card I typically buy a small item or two so it’s not obvious to the clerk what your doing. The computer always takes it. I have been able to buy back to school clothes with these free gift cards, pay for custom framing and just buy other things that we need.
Thanks for the tip Janel! I often wondered if that could be done. Our Jewel (not sure if they are still owened by Albertson’s?) has the same deal going on right now, but it ends today. The problem I have right now is my doctor wrote me three new prescriptions, but put them all on the same paper, so I can only use one coupon 🙁
also, FYI, our CVS accepts competitors coupons, even when expired. So, I grabbed a few extra of these coupons for future scripts to be filled at CVS 🙂
I haven’t been in to Albertsons for quite some time. Wondering where these booklets are located? Thanks in advance!
Pam – I went to 2 Albertson’s yesterday, at both stores they were in a display very close to the front door.
Glad to see this coupon is available in the current coupon book. I used the $25 Pharmacy coupon that was in the last book. Does anyone know if you can use it again on a different prescription for the same person ?
Christy, our Albertson’s is closing! I love Albertson’s, but now we will be without one on South Hill…*sigh*sniff sniff*
