When the weather starts getting nice we love to head outdoors. One of our favorite outdoor activities is Geocaching. Ā It combines hiking and trekking through the woods with the fun of a treasure hunt. Ā Geocaching is great for all ages! Ā Ā You don’t need much to get started, you just need a handheld GPS or Geocaching app on your phone and a sense of adventure.
Here’s what we packed forĀ our afternoon of Geocaching:
- Bottled Water
- Tree Top Apple Sauce Pouches
- GPS (Geocaching app on your phone works too!)
- Small Trinkets (to exchange when we find a Geocache)
We stopped by our local Fred Meyer to pick up the Tree Top Apple Sauce pouches. Ā In an effort to bring awareness to āRaising Good Applesā, Tree Top is partnering with the National Gardening Associationās KidsGardening.org to help educate kids on gardening. Ā For every box of Tree Top Apple Sauce Pouches purchased through 5/31 Tree Top will donate $1 to help KidsGardening.org to help build and grow youth gardens. Ā I love that!
We found our first geocache fairly quickly. Ā We brought along my five year old nephew for his first geocaching adventure and he was a little disappointed to find out there wasn’t “real” treasure inside the box. Ā I think he was expecting a box full of gold coins. Ā Ā Once we told him he could exchange one of the trinkets we brought for something fun inside the box he was happy.
Our next geocaching location had us heading to theĀ Arboretum at our local park. Ā Nothing beats walking around in the great outdoors, it’s beautiful! Ā Ā This geocacheĀ was a lot trickier to find than our first one.Ā Ā We spent aĀ goodĀ 30 minutesĀ combing the areaĀ until we finally found it.
Since the geocache at the Arboretum took more effort than we expected we stopped for a snack and water break.
The Tree Top Apple Sauce Pouches were perfectĀ to bring along because theyĀ are made with wholesome, simple ingredients and the make a great on-the-go snack. Ā I love that the Tree Top pouches come in lots of great flavors in addition to just apple. Ā TheĀ Strawberry Apple andĀ Mixed Berry Apple are some of our family faves.
I love that Tree Top is a local company, it’s located in my home state of Washington, right in the heart of apple country. Ā Tree Top is a grower-owned co-op with deepĀ rootsĀ in the community. Ā For more than 50 years, Tree Top has been delivering top-quality productsĀ withĀ premium ingredients inside all their sauces,Ā juices and smoothies.
Once we were done snacking we headed out for more geochaching. Ā We had a fabulous dayĀ spending some quality family time outdoors. Ā Ā You can’t beat a day filled with exercise, fresh air,Ā beautiful sceneryĀ andĀ family fun. Ā If you haven’t tried geocaching I encourage you to give it a go this spring. Ā It’s great fun for the whole family and it’s frugal too!
