Fourth of July Firecracker Cupcakes:
- black licorice ropes
- 24 large marshmallows
- 12 oz red melting candy
- 24 frosted cupcakes
Cut the black licorice into (24) 1” pieces. Place the red melting candy in microwave safe bowl and microwave in 30 second increments, stirring every 30 seconds, until melted and smooth.
Cover a baking sheet with wax paper. Skewer the marshmallows onto a skewer and dip into the melted red candy melts. Tap to remove any excess candy coating. Place the marshmallow on wax paper and gently remove the skewer. Add the licorice piece to the top of the coated marshmallow.
Repeat until all 24 marshmallows are coated. Allow the candy to set. Place marshmallow “firecracker” on top of each frosted cupcake. Enjoy!
