  • Author: Jen

Description

These Garlic Parmesan Knots are a delicious addition to any meal, especially pasta.

Ingredients

Scale

For the dough:

  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 and 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 TBSP olive oil
  • 2 1/23 cups of bread flour

For garlic butter:

  • 1/4 cup of butter
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup parmesan
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1 TBSP fresh parsley chopped

Instructions

  1. In mixing bowl add yeast, warm water and sugar.   Let sit for 5 minutes.  Stir in salt, olive oil, and 1 cup flour.  Add dough hook to mixer and mix in 1 1/2 cups of flour.  Mix and knead for 7 – 8 minutes.  Add the remaining 1/2 cup flour.
  2. Shape dough into a ball and place in bowl, cover with towel and set aside for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.   When dough has risen punch down, and prepare baking sheet with non-stick cookie spray.
  3. Divide dough into 12 equal pieces and roll out by hand into 8 inch snake shapes that are about 1/2 inch thick.  Carefully tie each dough into a knot.  Place on baking sheet and let rest for 45 minutes.  Then, bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden brown.  While baking, make the garlic butter.  In small saucepan melt butter, add olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper.
  4. Dip each roll into garlic butter sauce, sprinkle with fresh parmesan and fresh parsley.
