Caramel Apple Trifle

Description

This Caramel Apple Trifle is a tasty dessert the whole family will love!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 Granny Smith apples diced
  • 4 TBSP brown sugar, packed
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup granola
  • Caramel sauce, (homemade or store bought)

Instructions

  1. In medium sauce pan, add diced apples, lemon juice, nutmeg, cinnamon and brown sugar
  2. Cook over medium heat for 10-15 minutes or until apple soften
  3. Allow to cool for at least 15 minutes
  4. Add heavy whipping cream to mixer, gradually add powdered sugar and blend on high speed until stiff peaks form
  5. Add an even layer of whipped cream into bottom of the dessert cup
  6. Add 2 TBSP granola in an even layer
  7. Drizzle with 1 TBSP Carmel sauce, then spoon in apples
  8. Repeat layers and finish off with a drizzle of caramel sauce
  9. Refrigerate for 2 hours

Notes

Trifles are best if consumed with in 1-2 days.
