What a great idea Jane, thanks so much for sharing! I usually just throw all my magazines in the recycling bin. My kids would think it's fun to bring in magazines and get a book too. I am going to check it out.

I just signed up for my free mags too. My family doesn't ski but the kids are always needing magazines to cut pictures out of for class projects. When we are done with them, and if they aren't totally shredded, I send them to school with my kindergartener. They are always doing art projects. Another idea - we donate our used, uncut magazines to the local library.

Thanks, I just signed up for mine! Once I have read my magazines I take them into Half Price Books. They buy magazines that are from the current month for 25 cents. It doesn't sound like a lot, but it does add up when you have a stack. They also typically have kids books on clearance outside the store for $1-2. My kids think it's a fun treat to recycle magazines and come home with a book. Plus, if you get on their mailing list they send out coupons periodically. :)
