They do not automatically double, you have to have the special “twice the value” coupons to use with your manufacturers coupons. They will then double 3 coupons up to $1.00 (make them worth $2.00). You are only allowed 3 “twice the value” coupons per visit.
You can often find the doubler coupons in the Sunday paper, sometimes they are available in store at the customer service counter.
